2016 saw the sun beam through the windows, while the music raised the hands of the masses and the hearts of revellers lit up in gold. It was the time Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir came into the world with open arms and voices, to change the way the people rejoiced.

Born in Melbourne, with a dream to impact the world, the Disco Faith Choir was the blessing of Sunshine- one of the city’s renowned DJ and producers, who was raised on the dancefloor and found community on the dancefloor. Her music has spread to the masses over the last two decades, from soul moving house music and disco to the depths of the techno hues dance floor devotees love and adore. With a desire to unite anthemic club tracks with uplifting gospel and soul vocals, Sunshine took to the streets endeavouring to bring her studio output to life with the grandiose affections of a choir.

Performing for the first time in 2016, Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir at Prince Bandroom was an instant hit. Having fused her infectious club-ready house and techno vision with a 12 piece choir, Sunshine’s vision was afire, merging a dynamic club set she was known for, with 12 live and infectious gospel voices- bringing an energy to the room unlike anything else. They truly welcomed their faith- the disco. It wasn't long before Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir were gracing dance floors all over the city from Revolver to Night Cat, selling out five shows upfront. The faith was real. The travelling rejoicers have gone on to play at The Melbourne Museum, the inaugural Melbourne Music Week and Wine Machine alongside fellow Australian electronic heroes The Presets, Hayden James and more.

In alliance, Sunshine began curating Disco Faith Recordings in 2017 where the vision was to establish a home for original music created with Disco Faith Choir and bring together a celebration of electronic with the soul-moving energy of her 12 piece choir. ‘Dreams’ and ‘The Ride’ alongside the notable award winning producer Jan Skubiszewski have both been highly praised.

Fast forward to 2022, there’s no doubt that their faith in the return of dancefloors is stronger than ever. After two sold out shows at the legendary Gershwin Room and rave reviews supporting Client Liaison at The Forum, Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir welcomed in the new year by signing with Tash Sultana’s illustrious Lonely Lands Agency. Subsequent sold-out shows and key festival appearances have swiftly ensued including the epic THIRD DAY takeover for the recent single launch of ‘Welcome To The Dancefloor’.

The not-so-distant future sees a beautiful barrage of music from the studio, ready for the congregations and a massive live event planned to share the next single with an ever- growing legion of disciples.A true ode to dancefloor salvation, Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir serve to share the gospel of Disco Faith with those whose enthusiasm lives in the hands of the music.

The last few years have imprinted an impressive string of shows for Sunshine, from her renowned 16 hour set at Revolver’s 20th anniversary party, Rainbow Serpent Festival and big closing vibes at Piknic Electronic and Ability Fest, making the Sunshine energy contagious.

As the passionate owner of Disco Faith Recordings, this tastemaker has also been celebrated for her curation of one of the most enigmatic outfits - Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir, creating a community unlike any other and blessing people with the uplifting energy of her dancefloor ready music fused with the soul of her 12 piece choir.
